How We First Formed
Mr Philip Tunnicliffe formed the first Festival of Transport in September 1998, sadly, Philip died in June 1999, the rally continues in his memory.
This year in September, it will be our 14th Darley Dale Transport & Country Show and the event continues to thrive, as it's Mencap's main fundraising activity.
This year our Mencap Members Choir, are taking part in the Saturday opening ceremony with our President the Duke of Devonshire,Mr Patrick McLoughlin MP, and the Rev Dawson to bless the rally.
There is evening entertainment in the beer marquee, arena entertainment daily; it is a family show with something for people of all ages.
On the Saturday evening at 6pm there will be an auction of Vintage Collections, Household and Tools, in the main arena.
